MAY 26

Prof. Pellegata and Dr. Isabella Fabietti attended the EUPSA 2026 Congress in Vienna. It was a great opportunity to connect with clinicians, researchers, and collaborators working in pediatric surgery and regenerative medicine, exchange ideas, and discuss the latest advances in the field. We are excited to bring back new inspiration, perspectives, and potential collaborations for our ongoing projects.

We’re excited to announce that our lab has been awarded an ERC Proof of Concept grant. PROTECT aims to tackle the lack of knowledge around therapeutic choices during pregnancy by developing a 3D bioprinted model to assess fetal drug toxicity, helping to support safer, evidence-based treatments for pregnant women.

OCT 25

Prof. Pellegata and Carlotta had a great time attending the Nature Conference: Engineered Models of Human Disease in Belgrade this October. It was a fantastic chance to catch up with our friends and collaborators from UCL, enjoy inspiring talks, and make the most of Belgrade’s amazing food and atmosphere.

SEP 25

Carlotta and Alessandro took part in the XLIV GNB Annual School, where they had the chance to meet biomedical engineers from all over Italy and exchange ideas.

SEP 25

We were present at the 20th edition of the Computational Intelligence Methods for Bioinformatics and Biostatistics, held at our home Politecnico di Milano. Alessandro had the opportunity to present a poster and share his research with the community.

AUG 25

We are excited to have contributed to this Nature Protocols publication on deriving amniotic fluid organoids (AFOs)! A huge thank you to Prof. Gerli and Prof. De Coppi – we’re thrilled to see our collaboration continue to grow and make an impact.

JUL 25

We attended the MaxQuant Summer School 2025 in Utrecht! Alessandro boosted his expertise in mass spectrometry techniques and proteomics data analysis. He also had the opportunity to present his research on transcriptomic characterization of the amniotic fluid.
